Victoria (Vicki)'s Story
I'm happily married with two sons, 29 and 30. The younger one is rigging lights and training to run animation tracks for Cirque du Soleil in various international venues. The older son works for a large printing company in San Francisco. I live in San Diego with my husband.
I worked 12 years in economic and marketing research as a librarian and project coordinator in Baja California (using my Spanish degree from UCSB), quit work to raise our sons to middle school age, then spent 9-1/2 years as an admin assistant in a law firm. I currently work part-time for the San Diego County Bar Association.
I have determined that music IS my first love and I still enjoy performing. I don't play violin any more or guitar either, but I do love to sing. Although I'm no longer singing with The Peninsula Singers I did have the wonderful opportunity to sing with that group and 7 other choirs at Carnegie Hall in March, 2010. I was the alto soloist for the San Diego performance beforehand and then sang in the soprano chorus in the NYC performance of Beethoven's Mass in C with John Rutter (well-known British choral...Expand for more
comoser) conducting. It was definitely the highlight of my musical career and it was wonderful to be performing again. It was also fulfillment of a lifelong desire to get "out of the pit" where I spent my school career in the orchestra and up on the stage singing. I have also performed in the Christian Community Theater's productions of "Oklahoma" and "Senior Follies". I hope I "retirement" when it comes will allow me more time for artistic expression.
In addition to music, I love lighthouses, crafts, tennis and swimming and snorkeling. I am working toward my own business, making greeting cards and other stamped functional items.
As a member of our 40th Class Reunion Committee, I enjoyed reconnecting with some classmates and would enjoy hearing from any others who would care to write. As we approach our 50th anniversary of graduation from NHHS, I hope you will all make plans to attend a reunion now in the planning stages. Each year NHHS has an all-class reunion on campus the last Sunday in June. So in the interim, drop by if you can to get reacquainted. Wishing you all well. Vicki Adams Hoff
